Pine Bluff, April 24-(Special)-Mrs. U. W. Poss, 69 years old, wife of one of the city’s best known grocers, died Wednesday as a result of a nervous breakdown. Mrs. Poss, whose maiden name was Miss Emiline Herrington was born in Byhalia, Miss., September 1850, and at the age of nine came to Grant County, Arkansas, with her parents. She married U. W. Poss in 1872 and they had 12 children. Four sons and her husband survive. The sons are Alva, Oscar, Woodson and Grover Poss, all of them residing in this city. Four brothers also survive. They are S. T. Herrington of Malvern, J. Lee Herrington of Little Rock, the Rev. H. H. Herrington of Pine Bluff, and W. W. Herrington of Malvern. One sister resides at Bauxite. Seven grandchildren also survive. The funeral was held from the family residence Thursday afternoon.

Mrs. U. W. Poss, aged 69, died at her home, 1707 West Ninth Avenue at 6:30 yesterday morning. Funeral services will be held at 10 o’clock this morning from the family residence, 1707 West Ninth Avenue, services by Rev. W. J. E. Cox.
Mrs. Poss was born in Mississippi in 1850, and when she was nine years old, moved to Grant County. She was married to U. W. Poss in 1872. They had twelve children, of whom, four sons survive. They are Alva, Oscar, Woodson, and Grover, all of Pine Bluff. Besides her husband and sons she is survived by four brothers, S. T. Herrington of Malvern, J. L. Herrington of Little Rock, Rev. H. H. Herrington of Pine Bluff, and W. W. Herrington of Malvern, and one sister of Bauxite.
Pallbearers are Honorary: Dr. J. T. butler, Theo Wollerman, Will Fox, J. A. Clement, A. L. Raffety, F. O. McGehee; Active: J. F. West, Charles Haycock, H. L. Atkinson, Stanley Dreyfus, C. F. Shell, A. C. Grove.
