The funeral of Mr. John C. Crocker, of this village who died June 4th, took place at his late residence last Thursday, and, besides the near relatives was attended by a large concourse of neighbors and sympathetic friends, some coming from a remote distance. Rev. Mr. Fuller (Baptist ) read portions of scriptures followed by extended remarks of a eulogistic character, testifying to the many exemplary traits in the life of the deceased as a devoted husband, loving father, brother, and honorable citizen, closing with words of christian condolence to the bereaved, and after a fervent prayer the remains were followed to the Old Baptist church cemetery for interment in the family lot. Mr. C. was 71 years and 10 months old. He leaves a widow and four children, three daughters and one son.
