MaryAnn was married to Woodbury Berce Jr. for 27 years. She and Woody raised their children in Fort Fairfield and at their camp at Long Lake in Saint Agatha. After Woody's untimely death in 1974, she married Phil Currier, in 1977. With Phil she enjoyed many wonderful years of winters in Florida, cruises in the Caribbean and Europe, and summers at Cross Lake. In 2007, they moved permanently to Leisure Village, Presque Isle. Mary Ann would be the first to tell you that she was very fortunate to have enjoyed two happy marriages.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 36 years, Phil Currier; son, Ned Berce and wife, Carol; two daughters, Jill de Vries and husband, Ewout, and Tobin Champanier and husband, Norman; stepsons, Skip Currier, and Joe Currier and wife, Liz; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a niece, Judy Edmunds, who has been a very attentive companion since Mary Ann and Phil moved to Presque Isle. The family wishes to thank the staff at Leisure Village for the special care and attention extended to Mary Ann and Phil these past years. They have gone above and beyond their responsibilities.
There will not be any services per the request of MaryAnn, but the family will gather at the Berce home on Long Lake to celebrate her life at the top of the hill at Berce Farms, which offers a magnificent view of the lake and the hills beyond the other side. She died peacefully knowing that she would be at rest forever in a location of unparalleled beauty and many happy memories. Online condolences may be expressed at
