SPRINGFIELD, IL - Carolyn Sue Blessman, 49, of Springfield, formerly of Mason County, died at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, 1992, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

She was born April 14, 1943, in Mason County to Carrol and Ruth Friedrich Blessman.

She is survived by her parents of Bath; two daughters, Melanie S. Preston of Springfield and Maryann Hoyle of Jacksonville; one son, Michael Hoyle of Bloomington; two brothers, William of Manito and Douglas of Bath; two sisters, Linda Gent and Jill Blessman, both of Springfield; and two grandchildren.

She graduated with honors from Bradley University in 1989 and taught school at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception School in Springfield.

She was a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Havana, Illinois Science Teachers Association and Illinois Earth Science Teachers Associaton.

She was past matron of the Order of Eastern Star Chandlerville Chapter 544 and was past lay director of Central Illinois Walk to Emmaus.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Bath.
