Mrs. Mary Evelyn "Gaskins" Everhart, age 89, a resident of Beech Lane, Washington, NC, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 15, 2016, at her residence. Evelyn was born in Raleigh, NC on February 20, 1927 to the late and Anne Elizabeth and John Luther Gaskins. She attended Kings Business College and was a very loving wife and mother. Evelyn married Francis Everhart on January 29, 1947 whom survives. She was also a member of Second Baptist Church, Washington, NC in which she was very active in her earlier years. In addition to her parents she was also predeceased by two sisters, Janet Ruth Gaskins and Ethel Lambert. Survivors include one daughter, Susan (Jim) Parker of Pickerington, OH, two grandchildren, Justin (Abbie) Parker of Washington, NC, Jameson (Meghan) of Hilliard, OH, and two great-grandchildren, Dominic and Rosemary Parker of Hilliard, OH.

A memorial service of her life will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, December 30, 2016, Second Baptist Church, 2516 West Fifth Street, Washington, NC. In lieu of flowers contributions may be directed to Amedisys Hospice, 1072 US Hwy 64 West, Plymouth, NC 27962 or Second Baptist Church, 2516 West Fifth Street, Washington, NC 27889.
