Winston grew up living on his mother's allotted land and attended grammer school at Valley School across the road from his home. He also briefly attended Senecca Indian school in Wyandotte.
Winston died May 19, 1989 and was buried in Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner, Oklahoma.
