Adair Mary E, 83, of Brimfield, died Wednesday in McCray Hospital. She had been in failing health 2 months. She was born in Brimfield on November 21, 1911 to Frank B. and Hattie (Nasshahn) McCarty. On July 17, 1947 in Merrillville, she married Max Adair. He died May 3, 1994. She had been deputy recorder for the Noble County recorder's office; a bookkeeper for the Noble County treasurer's office, and district clerk for the State Highway Department's district office in Fort Wayne. She was a member of Brimfield United Methodist Church and was a youtth director there for many years, a member of Albion BPW and Noble County Republican Women's Club. She was a 50-year member of Noble Chapter No. 122 OES. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Marcia) Garrett of Brimfield; a brother, Glenn Bollinger of Kendallville; 4 grandchildren, Douglas Garrett of Fort Hood, Texas, Bryan Garrett of Albion, and Tamara and James Garrett of Brimfield; and 3 great-grandchildren, Kyle Garrett of Albion, Kaitlyn and Logan Garrett of Texas. Funeral Sunday in Hite Funeral Home, Kendallville. Burial, Orange Cemetery
