Merle Enke, 93, of Coralville, formerly of Wapello passed away Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Lantern Park.
James Merle Enke was born on September 3, 1926, in rural Louisa County, the son of Cecil James and Dale Marie (Owens) Enke. He was united in marriage to Janet Hutchcroft on August 1, 1947. They were the last couple to be married at the Marsh United Methodist Church. Merle was a farmer in Louisa and Henry County. He was a member of the Marsh United Methodist Church and the Kiwanis. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, square dancing, buying new cars, going out to eat, watching baseball and being with his grandchildren.
Merle was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Ken; and sister, Wilma Meeker.
