"L P ROOKER DEAD ON SUNDAY MORNING - For Years He Was a Rome Township Man - Leander P Rooker, for many years one of the well known men of Rome township, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs Samuel W Stewart, near Buell at an early hour Sunday morning. Mr Rooker was 80 years of age. Lately he had been failing in health. On Saturday he seemed to be about as well as usual but when the family went to call him Sunday morning he was dead in his bed, the end having come peacefully as he slept. Mr Rooker was born in Herkimer county, NY, and came a good many years ago to Centerville, where he started a cheese factory. Afterward he had such a factory near Glynden and another in the Irish settlement north of Titusville. His wife has been dead for several years. He is survived by two children, Mrs Stewart and James Rooker, the latter living on the old farm near Glynden. Funeral services will be held at the residence Wednesday at 11 o'clock."
