Afton LaVern Gibbons Snarr, 94, of Orem, Utah passed away peacefully July 5, 2007 at Canyon Breeze Retirement Center. She was born June 15, 1913 in Rockport, Utah to William Oliver and Mary Eliza Beecroft Gibbons. She married Kenneth Levi Snarr in the Salt Lake LDS Temple December 26, 1935. They lived and farmed in Osgood, Idaho and later both worked at the Atom Energy Commission until retirement. Afton loved music and was a church organist starting at age 13. She served as organist in one organization or another all her life including playing in many temples. Afton was a temple worker for many years and served two full time LDS missions. She served her first mission when she was 79 in the Washington DC Temple. At age 81, she served her second mission at the Family History Center in Salt Lake City. Afton loved traveling, fishing, and golf. She had to her credit two certified holes in one. She is survived by four of her five children, daughters, Dellene Snarr Grasmick, Provo and Nancy (Eddie) Snarr Cameron, Mountain Green; and sons, Blaine (Gwen) Snarr, Orem and Kent Dee (Jerri) Snarr, South Jordan. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 78 great-grand-children, and four great great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband; and a son, Darwin Lynn Snarr. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2007 at the Glenmoor 4th Ward, 4881 West Cindy Lane (9850 South) in South Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held at the church one hour prior to services where friends and family may call. Interment will follow at the Ammon City Cemetery, Ammon, Idaho.
