He was a retired cabinet maker and member of the East End Methodist church.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Margurete P. Ellzey; one daughter, Mrs. Andrew J. Blackman, Clarksdale; one son, J. N. Ellzey, Fr. Payne, Ala.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Ethel White, Meridian, and Mrs. Spence Dupree, Brownsville, Tenn.; one stepson, H. H. Pope, Jackson; three sisters, Mrs. B. T. Albritton, Mrs. E. R. Gordon and Mrs. Monroe Fleder, all of McComb; one brother, E. C. Ellzey, Winnsboro, La.
