US Congressman. Prior to entering politics, he was vice president of the Kendall Lumber Co. Pittsburgh and president of the Preston Railroad Co. From 1899 to 1903, he was a member of the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives. In 1919, he was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-sixth and to the six succeeding Congresses and served until his death.
