Gloria Jean Burkett, 78, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 16, 2020 in Jay, OK surrounded by her family. She was born on March 19, 1941 in Okmulgee, OK to her parents, Paul Davis and Lela Perry-Davis. Gloria graduated from Central High School, Tulsa, OK. She married her Soul Mate Richard and they raised 3 beautiful children. Gloria gave all her love to her family and was best friends with her children. Later in life she continued her education and received her Associates Degree in Paralegal at Rogers College, Claremore, OK. After receiving her degree she worked and retired with Comp Source after 23 years as their Workman’s Comp Claims Adjuster. Gloria was a very loving and kind soul that always had a helping hand and helping others in need. She was a great cook that put a splash of her TLC in every dish. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her crossword puzzles, trivia and jeopardy. Gloria always had her brain cells going in overdrive and would have the answers to some of the hardest or off the wall questions with trivia and Jeopardy. She loved everyone with all her heart and soul and was everybody’s best friend. She was a hard worker, loving mom that would do anything for her children and grandchildren. Gloria is now reunited with her soul mate, Richard and will finally live together forever in Eternity. We will miss her so much and will always keep her memory alive. We know that one day we will be reunited with mom and dad and be a family once again throughout Eternity. Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Lela Davis; her husband of 43 ½ years, Richard Burkett and her sister, Patricia Hudson. She is survived by her 3 children, Debi Custer of Jay, OK, Doug Burkett and wife Kirby Pearce of Tulsa, OK, Cindi Collins and husband Randy Collins of Jay, OK; 5 grandchildren, Keith Fleming of Tulsa, OK, Daniel Burkett of Inola, OK, Blayne Collins and Fiancé Heather Fink of Grove, OK, Whitney Adams and husband Casey of Jay, OK and Heather Burkett of Pryor, OK; great-grandchildren, Breckyn Collins and Brooklyn Fink of Grove, OK; brother, Paul Davis, Jr. of Tahlequah, OK; 3 nephews, Tim Davis of Tahlequah, OK, Gary and Patrick Hudson of Tulsa, OK; numerous cousins, extended family and friends.
