GLADYS MARIE (HAYS) TRIESLER, of Hagerstown, MD., passed peacefully March 15, 2020 while residing in Spring Arbor Memory Care in Frederick, MD. She was the loving wife of J. Richard Triesler, Sr., who passed away October 22, 2018. They were childhood sweethearts, married for 69 years. Gladys was the daughter of Clayton Albert Hays & Lillian Estelle Hays and was born in Halfway, MD. in 1930.

Gladys graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1948. Gladys was a dedicated homemaker, involved in antiques, decorating, bowling and floral arranging. She also loved family, sewing, cross stitching, quilting, cooking and gardening. She was very active in the Methodist Church. She lived in Springfield, VA, Darnestown, MD, then later moved to Charlotte, NC with her husband, where they lived 23 years before returning to Hagerstown, MD.

She is survived by her two children, James R. Triesler, Jr. and Linda Marie Braun. She has two living grandchildren, Tiffany Marie Triesler and Emliy Marie Kehoe; four great grandchildren, Brennan and Sophie Kehoe, Madison Norris and Sarah Triesler; along with a brother Donald L. Hays.

Gladys was preceded in death by her brothers Clayton A. Hayes, Jr. & Jack E. Hays and sadly, a grandson Chad E. Triesler.

A funeral service will be held at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
