Funeral services were held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Roosevelt LDS Stake Center for Louis E. Allred, 83, who died Tuesday (17 Jul 1962) at 9 p.m. at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Ora Campbell, Kaysville, after a long illness. He was born October 2, 1878 in Chester, to Ephraim L. and Mathilda Bronson [sic] Allred. He married Lydia B. Henrie June 18, 1897 at Castle Dale, the marriage later being solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He served two missions for the LDS church, and was one of the early bishops of the Hayden-Neola ward. He served as a member of the Uintah County board of education at one time. Survivors include his widow; sons, daughters, Louis Ray, Redondo Beach, Calif.; James E., Cleon, Don, Clyde, Miles, all of Salt Lake; Kenneth R., Pleasant Grove; Glen H., Lehi; Lee, Roosevelt; Lyle, Jackson, California; Mrs. Ora B. Campbell, Kaysville; Mrs. Rex (Zella) Gardner, Vernal; Mrs. Jack (Verda) Fuell, Tooele; 75 grandchildren; 160 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; brothers, sister, J. P. Ogden; Clem, Mont, Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Alta Olson, Grand Junction, Colorado. Funeral services were conducted by Bishop Dean Frandsen of Roosevelt Third ward and went as follows: prayer at the mortuary, Don Allred; prelude and postlude music by Ann Stenquist; invocation by Rex Gardner, Benediction by W. K. Dye of Neola; songs, "Beyond the Sunset' by Lazelle and Ferris Henrie accompanied by Lillian Wilkerson; "That Silver Haired Daddy of Mine" by Donald Fulton accompanied by Viola Harrison; "O My Father" by Donald Fulton, Keith Bergquist, Marion L. Harrison, Venil Johnson, accompanied by Viola Harrison. The life history and remarks were given by Bishop Dean Frandsen along with other speakers, Bishop Glen Hill of Kaysville and Pres. Reginald O. Curry. Dedication of the grave was by Kenneth Allred and burial was in the Roosevelt city cemetery. Serving as pall bearers: Eldon Gardner, Douglas Campbell, Lynn Allred, Justin Fuell, Glen Allred, Louis Allred, Larry Allred, and Gordon Allred.
