Micayla is survived by her parents, Greg and Rena; brother, Shane; sister, Amanda; grandparents, Laurin and Marlene Knobbe; grandmother, Caroline Medek; and numerous other relatives and friends. Cayla worked at Subway as a "sandwich artist." She was a graduate of William C. Hinkley High School and she attended Community College of Aurora through last fall. She attended the midnight showing of the new Batman movie with friends when she was murdered.
