PURDY, Jennie - Age 73, of Houghton Lake, formerly of Goodrich passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2007. Funeral services will be held at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc at 12 noon on Saturday, August 4, 2007 with Pastor Jim Combs officiating. A private family burial will follow at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday 9 AM until the time of service at 12 noon. Jennie was born January 30, 1934 to Adeline (West) and William Rhodes in Sturgis, Mississippi. She married her wonderful husband, Henry (Ty) Purdy on August 31, 1957 in Detroit. One of the many highlights in Jennie's life was working for the FBI. She was also a proud supporter of the family business, P & P Manufacturing. Jennie enjoyed knitting, gardening, crafts and cooking. She loved volunteering to help people. Jennie was a member of the Living Word Church in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She will be missed by her family: husband, Henry (Ty) Purdy; children, Diane (Steven) Shaffer and John (Cathy) Purdy; 5 grandchildren, Casey, Ahna, Jenna, Ty and Leah. She was preceded in death by her parents and 4 brothers.
