Wink was born on May 6, 1928 in Anderson, Indiana to Robert and Lola Winkelmeyer. He joined the United States Air Force in 1947 and proudly served his country for four years. He married the love of his life, Barbara Moore, in 1953. Wink started his career at American Airlines in 1952 as a mechanic and he worked his way up the ladder and retired as a flight engineer after 41 years of service. After retirement, he enjoyed going to their cabin in Colorado. He loved fishing, hunting, and tooling around in his Jeep.
Wink was a 60 year member of the Handley Masonic Lodge #1140. He was also involved with the Moslah Shriners, Scottish Rite, Order of the Eastern Star, Al Kaly Shriners in Pueblo, Colorado and the Sand Dune Shrine Club.
Wink was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Jeanine Edwards.
Survivors: Loving wife of 67 years, Barbara Moore Winkelmeyer; daughters, Karen Winkelmeyer and Kenya Skytte and husband, Steve; granddaughter, Sarah Rothstein and husband, Dave; grandson, Steve "Pepper" Skytte Jr. and wife, Shannan; great-granddaughters, Brooklyn Rothstein, Michelle Rothstein and Sophie Skytte; sister-in-law, Arlyne Shelton; nephew, John T. Humphries and wife, Beth; niece, Amy Poteate and husband, Wilmer; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
