Abdon Barajas "AB", age 84, of Lansing, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at home. The son of Natividad & Maria (Franco) Barajas, he was born on February 2, 1932 in Morenci, Arizona.

Raised and educated in Tampico, Mexico. In the early 1950’s, Abdon and his brother immigrated back to the U.S. in search of work. Eventually they both settled in Lansing, finding employment at Fisher Body.
Shortly thereafter, Abdon returned to Tampico, Mexico to marry his childhood sweetheart (“Maria Elena”), they were married December 31, 1957. They enjoyed 58 years of marriage and were blessed with five children, Jesse, Bibbie “Marie” (m. Jack), Jose’ (m. Christine), Carlos and Ellie “MarthaElisa” (m. Bryan). Abdon and Maria Elena has nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial gathering from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the East Lansing Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbott Road, East Lansing (room number signage will be posted), where the Memorial Service will commence at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at East Lawn Memory Gardens, 2400 Bennett Road, Okemos, 48864.

Instead of flowers, Abdon would have appreciated contributions in his memory to either Meals on Wheels Tri-County Office on Aging, 5303 S. Cedar Street - Suite 1, Lansing, MI 48911 (1-800-05-9141) or Heartland Hospice, 865 S. Cedar Street, Mason, MI 48854 (1-517-244-0404)

Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
