Obituary
William Calvin “Bill” Daniel, 89, of Oxford, Georgia, formerly of Dawson, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Piedmont Newton Hospital in Covington. A funeral service will be held at the graveside in Parrott City Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2020. Pastor Obbie Todd and Mr. Ken Wynne will officiate. The family will visit with friends after the service.

Mr. Daniel was born in Terrell County, November 9, 1930, son of John Cheslie Daniel, Sr. and Laura Tommie Wishard Daniel.

Bill lived in Dawson most of his life. He worked at Radio TV Center until he retired in 2012 to spend more time with his family.

He was an active member of Graves United Methodist Church where he served as Treasurer and as a member of the Endowment Trust Fund Board. Since moving to Oxford, he attended The Church at Haynes Creek. His hobbies included watching NASCAR racing and enjoying the various extracurricular activities his grandchildren were involved in.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Glynn Daniel; brother, J.C. Daniel, Jr.; sister, Lorene Birdsong; and granddaughter, Allyson Paige Wynne.

Survivors include his daughters, Pam Wynne (Ken) of Oxford and Rene Roberts (Steve) of Cartersville; 5 grandchildren, and great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to The Church at Haynes Creek, c/o First Baptist Church Covington, 1139 Usher Street, NW, Covington, GA 30014.
