James H. Hardy, of St. Charles, MO, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the age of 80. Loving husband of 51 years to Peggy Hardy (nee Ehlmann); beloved son of the late William and Beatrice Hardy; devoted father of Terry (Betty Jean) Hardy, Sr., Pamela (Bruce) Staley, and Lisa (Benjamin Imelhaine) Hardy; cherished grandfather of John Ayars, Aubrey & Remy Imelhaine; great-grandfather of Lillian & Bryson Ayars; step-grandfather of Pat (Susan) Boley and Stacey Chandler; step-great-grandfather of Jacklynn (Phillip) Wise, Kelcey Boley, and Ethan Debuque; step-great-great-grandfather of Brayden & Asilynn Wise; brother-in-law of Dave (Kathy) Ehlmann; and is also survived by numerous other family and friends. James is preceded in death by his grandson, Terry L. Hardy, Jr.; four brothers, Kenneth Hardy, Charles Hardy, Robert Hardy, and Ralph Hardy.

Jim proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 20 years before retiring. He was a member of Elks Lodge and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was always on the go; fishing, hunting, and bowling were some of his favorite past times. His family has fond memories of their times traveling around the country, often in the form of a road trip. Jim was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
