Farrel Eugene Colston, 62, Chanute, Kansas, died Thursday, August 2, 2007 at his home.

Farrel was born in Yates Center, Kansas on Sept. 7, 1944 the son of George Washington and Mary (Manley) Colston.

He attended Chanute High School.

He was united in marriage to Linda Bockover. They later divorced.

He was united in marriage to Lavonna (Coke) Brown on Sept. 25, 1971. She survives, of the home.

Farrel worked at Chanute Manufacturing until his retirement in 2005.

He loved camping and spending time with his grandchildren.

Along with his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mitzi Schoenhofer, Amanda Raida and Nan Petty, all of Chanute, KS; two sons, James Colston, Chanute, KS, and Ken Colston, Sterling, KS; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Cathy Card and Georgie Young, both of Chanute, KS, Anita Barnett, Oklahoma, and Suzie Culver, Wichita, KS; four brothers, Roy Colston and Carmen Colston, both of Chanute, KS, George Colston, Wichita, KS, and Phil Scott, Augusta, KS; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Reed; his father, George Colston; and his stepfather Francis Reed.

Burial will be August 7, 2007, in Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute, Kansas.
