George A. Brown, 95, of Merrimack, NH died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a period of declining health.
He was born in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada on Feb. 1, 1913, a son of the late Robert & Margaret (Belmore) Brown.
Mr. Brown moved to Peabody, MA in 1922 and attended school there. He moved to Merrimack in 1952 and had been employed at Ingersoll Rand Company before retiring in 1976.
During the 1960s and 1970s, Mr. Brown played the bass fiddle in the Nashua Symphony Orchestra.
Mr. Brown is predeceased by his wife Anne I. (Daly) Brown who died Dec. 4, 2002 and two brothers, Arthur and Robert Brown.
Members of his family include a son and daughter-in-law, George and Vitella Brown of Merrimack, and a daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Gerard Bernier of Stoddard, NH, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, and several nieces.
There are no calling hours. Funeral service will be private. Burial will be in Last Rest Cemetery, Merrimack. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Northern NE Chapter, 114 Perimeter Rd., Nashua, NH 03063.
