Campbell ~ James Howard Akridge, 77 of Campbell, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2020 at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell, Missouri.

James, son of Lonzo and Dorothy Prentice Akridge, was born Wednesday, April 8, 1942 in Gideon, Missouri.

He worked for John's Produce for 40 years and also, Tyson and was of the Baptist Faith. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam War.

His survivors include three sons, Bobby Akridge and wife Sherrie of Kennett, Mark Akridge of Campbell, John Akridge and wife, Heather of Glennonville; two daughters, Melinda Sue Akridge of Piggott, Jamie Little and husband, John of Poplar Bluff; step-son, Ronnie Oakes and wife, Susan of Naperville, Illinois; 15 grandchildren; 8 Great-Grandchildren; one brother, Robert Akridge and wife, Darla of Campbell; four sisters, Phyllis Sims and Joyce Ellsworth both of Malden, Judy Collins of Pollard, Arkansas, Anna Akridge of Campbell; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Donna Anderson; Grandson, Christopher Akridge; five brothers, Wilburn, Lonzo, Terry, Jerry and Donald; and one sister, Della Vannasdall.

Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Landess Funeral Home in Campbell. Funeral services will be on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 11 a.m., at the funeral chapel with Brother Mike Redman officiating. Burial followed in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Landess Funeral Home of Campbell will be in charge of the arrangements.
