Marjorie B. (Brownell) Warcup, 94, of Stokes Road, affectionately known as Marge, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at Rome Memorial Hospital, after a short illness.

She was born in Oneida, on June 6, 1919, a daughter of Earl and Grace Rogers Brownell. Marge grew up on the Brownell homestead farm at the hamlet of Dunn Brook. She received her education at Dunn Brook Rural School, later graduating from Boonville High School, with the Class of 1939.

On June 12, 1946, she was united in marriage with Clifford F. Warcup, at the Rome Methodist Church parsonage. The couple moved to their present home in 1963. From 1960 until she retired in 1980, Mrs. Warcup was employed as a secretary at Griffis Air Force Base in Rome, in the procurement department. For many years the couple enjoyed displaying dairy cattle at the Boonville Oneida County Fair. Mr. Warcup, a WWII Veteran and a retiree of the Department of Transportation, died on January 17, 1984.

Mrs. Warcup was a long time active member of the Westernville United Methodist Church, where she served as a church trustee, and secretary of the United Methodist Women. Later she transferred her membership to the North Western United Methodist Church. For 19 years she served as a correspondent from the Town of Western for the Boonville Herald. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens of Westernville and the Town of Western Historical Society. Marge greatly enjoyed baking.

She is survived by one daughter, Jean M. Dunlap, a grandson, J.J. Dunlap and his wife, Donna, two great grandsons, Henry Dunlap and Jac McEwan, all of Westernville, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Genevieve Clark and a brother, Arthur Brownell.
