Census 1880: Anders Christensen is a farm hand at a farm and inn in Vester Brønderslev parish, Hjørring amt (Northern Jutland)
In 1875 Anders was released from the military register because of a gland disease. Most common in Denmark at that time, caused cattle tuberculosis.
He remained single and was a farm laborer.
Anders was the first of the Christensen family to emigrate to Turner County, South Dakota. His youngest brother, Lars Christen Christensen emigrated In March of 1888 to Parker, Turner Co. SD after Anders. Anders died of pneumonia after 1891. Lars eventually left South Dakota and moved his family to homestead outside of Kenmare, Ward County, North Dakota.
