16 MAY 2020, Memorial notes/at or near date of transfer. Added gender. 1) Middle initial may be "G," which is how Tyner recorded him. Spelling on first name might be as the Biblical fashion, EZEKIEL.
2) The Rootsweb page on "Deputies under Judge Parker" verifies both he and his brother served in the USMS, but adds a notation that they were killed in the line of duty. I'm not convinced about the "being killed for raising a ruckus" thing. Often times that was used as an excuse to murder someone, and it appears there had been some bad blood between Ed Reed and the Crittendens. Ironically, Reed himself was killed later for as the bio section puts it, "raising hell."
3) the original bio section from creator of the memorial is below divider

"Zeke" and his brother Dick were sometime Marshalls (sic) for Judge Parker and sometime outlaw's. They and relatives ran a halfway house between Hulbert and Wagoner in the 1890's. They were killed in Wagoner in 1895 for raising "hell" in a saloon. They were shot by Ed Reed, a Marshall (sic) for Judge Parker and son of Belle Starr. They were buried in the Hulbert Cemetery. Later in 1896, Ed Reed (himself) was killed in Claremore, OK for raising "hell".
