He was born in Saline Co. Missouri and worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad in the M of W Department. He was a section foreman. Renno, 90, of Hughesville, died Tuesday, May 17,2005, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia. He was born Aug. 20,1914, in Saline County, a son of drover Cleveland and Emma Zue Rennison Renno. On Oct. 29,1936, in Sedalia, he was married to Ellen DeLores Sterling, who died May 29,1999. Mr. Renno was a member of the Hughesville Baptist Church, where he had served on the board of trustees. He had also been the Sunday school superintendent at Walnut Branch Baptist Church. After Walnut Branch Church burned down, he was instrumental in starting Prairie View Baptist Church in Green Ridge. He had worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps for several years before going to work for the Missouri Pacific Railroad. He was a section foreman for 39 years before retiring in 1974. He also owned and operated his own family farm in the Hughesville area. He loved gardening, canning and just being on the farm. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed setting trot lines. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and because of his age, spent many hours recounting stories and history about the way things used to be, when he was younger. Surviving are a son. Joseph “J.W.” Renno, of Hughesville; four daughters, Charlotte E. Boone and Del/tres Bowlin, both of Hughesville. Virginia Lee Blackerby. of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Patricia Ann Knight of Torrington, Conn.; a sister, Mary L. Barnett, of Topeka, Ran.; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was also predeceased by two sisters, Virginia Carter and Edith Taylor. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Anthony Chapman officiating. Pallbearers will be David Smith, Kelly Smith, G.L Ream, Dgan Sampson, William Sampson and IJoyd Storeman. Honorary pallbearers will be JoAnn Bean, Mary Anderson, Wanda and Bob Wiskur and Emma Swopes. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday. The family suggests memo rial contributions to Hughesville Baptist Church or the American Heart Association
