Mrs. Sadie E. Myers, wife of James Myers of Anson, and only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Adams, also of Anson, died at the home of her parents on Monday morning, October 6, 1902. Mrs. Myers had been in poor health for some time, and while little hope was entertained of her recovery her death came rather unexpectedly as her friends thought she might last some months longer. Everything that affection could prompt was done, and neither expense nor care was spared to restore her health, but all of no avail. Death was stronger than human skill and the love of the dearest friends, and ruthlessly tore her from the embrace of her parents and husband.

Mrs. Myers was born in Clinton county, Ohio, December 17, 1874, but had spent most of her life in Kansas. She was converted in early life and was a birthright member of the Friends church. Her gentle ways and sympathetic nature endeared her to the hearts of many and caused her to have a large circle of friends. As a daughter she was ever dutiful and obedient. She was a devoted and faithful wife and mother, ever considering the happiness of others rather than her own. Her character was above reproach and wherever known she was held in the highest esteem. The funeral services were held in the Friends Meeting House, three and one-half miles northeast of Anson, and the number of carriages in attendance was unusually large. Rev. N.K. Simpson, pastor of the Anson Free Baptist church officiated, speaking from Rev. 13:14. The body was laid to rest in the Friends cemetery to await the resurrection of the just. Her sorrowing husband, parents and only brother, and little son, Frankie, have the universal sympathy of the entire community in their deep and irreparable loss.
