Jerry L. Rea worked in the oil fields all his life, mainly for Standard Oil. He had been a resident of Powell for 38 years, loved fishing and bowling and was a member of the VFW. Mr. Rea, 62, died Saturday evening in Sheridan, Wyo.
He was born in Lance Creek, a son of Ambrose and Ida Rea. He served in the Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1945. He married LaVergne Hudson Jan. 4, 1965, in Cody.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dr. Forrest of Grants Pass, Ore., and Thomas of Powell; a stepson, Edwin Roberts of Powell; two brothers, Dr. Jack of Three Forks, Mont, and Jene of Casper; a sister, Jone Soto of Cheyenne; his father of Buffalo, Wyo., and six grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Easton Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place.
