The death occurred yesterday evening of Joel Ellis Dodson at his Ringgold, VA home at the age of 81.
Deceased was a Confederate veteran, having gone through the four years of the war under General Longstreet without being wounded.
He married Miss Frances Elizabeth Cardwell in 1869. She survives him with the following children, W H Dodson of Gatewood, Mrs. D M Collie and Mrs. R D Mobley of NC and Mrs. E J Me___ of Danville, VA. Also a sister, Mrs. Bettie Hodnett of Chatham, VA.
