Born in Jefferson Co. TN. In 1861, enlisted in 2nd Tenn. Cavalry, Army of the Cumberland, U.S. Fought at the battle of Chickamauga and other less known engagements. Married (1) Rachel S. Blackwell June 31, 1861 in Jefferson County TN. Moved to Burnet Co. TX ca.1871. Had eight children, all lived to adulthood. Moved to Brown Co. TX in 1891. Rachel died on Sept. 3, 1891. A.J. and Rachel (Blackwell) Webb were my great grandparents.
