During World War II Agnes was employed by North American Aviation and became Rosie the Riveter while helping build the Mitchell B-25 made famous by the Doolittle raid on Tokyo in 1942. She was also employed by Irving Pitts and later at the Macy's Department Store in Kansas City, Missouri, retiring from Macy's on May 31, 1973 . She was a former longtime member of St. Rose of Lima and also Blessed Sacrament Catholic Churches and then joined Christ The King Catholic Church in 1961. She was also a past president of the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 199. Agnes was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to many.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William H. Laskey Sr.; her daughter, Bernadine Eleanor Laskey; her granddaughter, Diana Marie (Laskey) Ault; her brother, Johnnie Guillaume; her sister, Katherine Agnes Guillaume; and her parents. She was survived by her son, William H. Laskey Jr., of Independence, Missouri; a granddaughter, Sharon Kae, of Independence, Missouri; five great grandchildren; and several cousins and many friends.
Friends called on Monday evening, September 27th, at the Butler Funeral Home in Kansas City, Kansas, where the Rosary was said later that night. Funeral services were held on Tuesday morning, September 28th, at Christ The King Catholic Church in Kansas City, Kansas. Burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas.
