Andrew “Bubba” George Watson, 85 of Philippi, WV and formerly of Freeport and Smithtown, Long Island, NY passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at the Louis A Johnson VA Medical Center. He was born June 7, 1934 in Freeport, NY, the son of the late Andrew Martin and Virginia Burton Watson.
Andrew graduated from Seton Hall High School in Patchogue, NY. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War being stationed in Gaum and Okinawa. Andrew was a retired firefighter with the FDNY in 1985 with over twenty years of service. Andrew enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, watching westerns and old TV shows. His life was his family and the Fire Department.
Andrew is survived by his wife of sixty one years, Carmella Antoinette Primavera Watson; three children, James Joseph Watson and Renee, St Lucie, FL, Glenn Andrew Watson and Karen, Blue Point, NY, Tina Marie Tirabassi and Dennis, Miller Place, NY; daughter-in-law, Susan Watson, St James, NY; eleven grandchildren, James Joseph Watson Jr, Taylor Rose Watson, Kenneth T Watson Jr, Angela Faith Cuccienello, Gary Watson, Christopher Watson, Jennifer King, Nicole Ryan, Andrew Ryan, Thomas Ryan Jr, and Kelli Ann Ryan; two great grandchildren, Mia and Wyatt; one sister, Anne Muldowney, Tampa, FL; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Andrew is preceded in death by one son, Kenneth T Watson, Sr; one sister, Virginia Kammerdiner.
