Betty Mae Dean Smith, age 90, of Florence, AL, formerly of Atlanta, GA died Tuesday, December 4, 2007.
Her funeral service will be Friday, December 7, 2007, 2 p.m. at Emory & Henry Memorial Chapel, Emory, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until service time. Burial will follow in Holston Conference Cemetery, Emory, Virginia.
Mrs. Smith was a native of Church Hill, TN and a member of Druid Hill Methodist Church in Atlanta, GA where she taught a Sunday School class. She was a retired teacher and taught Adult Education at Georgia Regional Hospital in Atlanta. Betty loved gardening and was a faithful Alumni of Emory & Henry College.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick F. Smith, parents, Elmer and Mae Dean, and brothers, Wilson and Haswell Dean.
Her family would like to express a special thank you to the staffs at Glenwood, Wellington Place and to Dr. Loren McCoy for their loving care. Morrison Funeral Home of Tuscumbia, AL and Farris Funeral Service of Abingdon, VA are in charge of arrangements.
