Funeral services were held Tuesday at Santo for C. C. Johnston Sr., 84, who died Sunday evening at Hamilton. He had been a life-long resident of Santo, and was a retired rancher.
He was only 9 months of age when, with his family, he arrived by covered wagon from Huntsville, Arkansas. His wife the former Ida May Tucker preceded him in death.
Survivng are six sons, Homer S. Johnston and Millard Johnston, both of Fort Worth, Raymond Johnston of Santo, Joe S. Johnston of Lampasas, Leonard Johnston of Gordon, and C. C. Johnston Jr. of Weatherford; one daughter, Mrs. Bruce Adock of Abilene, and six grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Vada Thompson of Weatherford and Mrs. Bertha Robbins of Shreveport, Louisiana."
