They had lived at Dortmund, Germany.
They boarded the ship, Kaiserin Auguste Victoria, on July 5, 1906 at Hamburg, Germany and arrived in New York. No "arrival" date is filled in on the ship's list.
Hattie's father, Fritz, had came to America on June 10th the year before, aboard the ship Pretoria. His occupation in German was Schlachter, Geselle (a butcher, journeyman).
---
Her parents divorced shortly after immigration and she was raised by her father, Fritz Wilke, and step-mother, Hermina (Kitzler), along with her siblings in East Columbus, Ohio. Hermina soon gave her five half-brothers.
This may be why she quickly married at age 17 to Russell Darby in 1921. They lived in Bexley on Chelsea Ave and had one daughter. Hattie and Russell divorced sometime after 1942, and each remarried after.
