Homer C. Burleson, Sr., 84, of Las Vegas, Nev. passed away July 27, 2007.

He was born April 23, 1923 in Manor, Texas. Homer was a retired federal meat grader. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force, having served during World War II.

Homer was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Seaton Burleson and Lena Smith Burleson; brothers, Warren Burleson and Baylor Burleson; and daughter, Cathy Diane Burleson.

He is survived by his sons, Homer Burleson Jr. (Martha) of San Antonio and Paul Burleson (Linda) of Argyle; grandchildren, Kimberly and Ray Hoyt, Kevin and Paula Ross, Melanie and Kent Marquess, Shane and Jennifer Burleson, Tamera Burleson, Jackie and Scot Thomas; great-grandchildren, Nicole, Kathryn, Perin, Eric, Jacob, Lindcy, James, Gracie and Elijah; and his friend and companion, Gloria Scott.

A memorial service was held Aug. 1, 2007 at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nev.

Boulder City Family Mortuary handled the arrangements.
