Jan Marie Howard-Cannon was born on January 15, 1939, to Lillis and Mary Wade (Durham) Heath in Waurika, OK. She passed away on February 21, 2020 at the age of 81.

Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, February 25, from 6:00-7:00P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. A graveside service is scheduled for Wednesday, February 26, at 10:30A.M. at the Waurika Cemetery with Pastor Randy Southerland officiating.

Jan Marie was a 1957 graduate of Waurika High School. She attended Midwestern State University-Wichita Falls, majoring in Theater, for 2 years. She married Euel J. Howard on October 30, 1958, in Wichita Falls. To this union 2 daughters – Alyce and Suzanne – were born.

She was the owner of The Freedom Call from 1965-1975. She worked at The Buffalo News, The Marlow Review, and was the advertising manager at The Duncan Banner. Jan Marie served on the music committee for the Chisholm Trail Arts Council. She enjoyed politics and traveling with her late husband, Don Cannon.

Jan Marie is survived by her children: Alyce and husband Steve Longest of Duncan, Suzanne and husband James Konarik of Oklahoma City; and grandchildren: Lee Huber of Torrance, CA, Tyler Huber of Torrance, and Matthew Huber of Glendale, who were the pride and joy of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Euel Howard; and second husband, Don Cannon.
