Betty A. Platisha, age 93 of Trommald died on February 20, 2020 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby. She was born on April 27, 1926 in Staples to Louis and Ann (Mudek) Johnson. Betty married Mike Platisha on February 15, 1947 in Duluth. She retired in 1975 from FW Woolworth Co., Duluth with 28 years of service. After she retired in 1975 her and husband Mike moved to Trommald. Betty was the City Clerk/Treasurer and Council Member for Trommald, a Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Board Member for 20 years; a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby and president of the CCW, St. Joseph's Catholic Society of Foresters, St. Mary's Court 854; She helped start pasties making as a fund raiser for the church; She a member and a past president of the Myrin-James American Legion Auxiliary #433, Ironton.

Betty is survived by a brother, Raymond (Mary) Johnson of Crosby; two sisters, Janet Chambers of Trommald and Paulette (Don) Winberg of Duluth.

Preceding Betty in death are her parents; her husband Mike in 1989; one brother, Louis Jr. and three sisters, Dorothy, Louise and Diann.

A Memorial Mass will be held will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 28, 2020 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Hospice Program, Crosby. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
