Keith Edward McMurphy, born August 19, 1930 in Long Beach, California, died on January 10, 1989 in Santa Monica. A teacher with the L.A. Unified School District for 30 years, he will be remembered by many students. At his request, his ashes were scattered at sea by his son, Harry J. Alpert. He leaves a wife, Anne Marple; a brother, Russell V. McMurphy; and 11 nieces and nephews. He was sustained in his final illness by the devotion of his close friend, Glory Chudnow.
