Killed by Sherman's men at or near Cheraw, SC when Sherman marched through South Carolina in 1865. Buried in unknown location. There is a possibility that he is buried at Confederate Memorial at Cheraw, SC. Memorial marker located at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Pamplico, Florence County, SC.Married Seana Stone daughter of Dottson Stone and Francis Snow.They had 3 sons that served in the War Between the States: William Leonard Hyman, Ferdinand Gyp Hyman and Calvin Ezra Hyman.
