Frederick Gottlieb Stucki, 88, of Atlantic Shores Harbour Way, beloved husband of 61 years of the late Dorothy Brown Stucki and brother of 14 siblings, entered into rest July 21, 2007. Mr. Stucki was born in Elberta, Ala., the son of Swiss immigrants Gottfried Stucki and Anna Maria Kunz. Mr. Stucki joined the U.S. Army and served in the Aleutian Islands during World War II and retired as a chief warrant officer 4 after 29 years of service. He then resided in Alexandria, Va., where he worked for 25 years as a civil servant for the U.S. Army Computer Systems Command and then as chief of Supply for the U.S. Army at Fort Belvoir, Va. He relocated to Virginia Beach in 1999 where he and his wife resided in Altantic Shores Retirement Community. Mr. Stucki was an active member of both Franconia and Nimmo United Methodist churches and held several positions including president of the Franconia United Methodist Men. He is survived by his two sons, Harold A. Stucki (Carole) of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Keith B. Stucki of Eudora, Kan.; and two daughters, Frederica S. Curley (Irvin) of Westlake, Ohio, and Robin C.S. Caldwell (Matthew) of Virginia Beach; 12 grandchildren, Kenneth C. Curley, Karen C. Casey, Keith P. Curley, Kimberly A. Ulevich, Kyle I. Curley, Megan L. Caldwell, Kirstin E. Stucki, Kevin M. Stucki, Jeffrey W. Stucki, Alexandra M. Caldwell, Kourtni M. Pullen and Emma K. Stucki; and nine great-grandchildren. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Nimmo United Methodist Church by the Rev. Clark Cundiff. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach, is handling arrangements.
