--Son of Cletus Dennis Wensil and wife Velma Bost. Carl was raised in Concord, NC.
--U.S. Army Veteran. Staff Sergeant serving from 1947-1951.
--Member of American Legion. He served as Commander for Post 262 and was very active for many years.
--Occupation: He worked on the railroads as a young man. Carl was a boomer lineman and later in his career went into the telephone interconnect business, Wen-Tel, for more than twenty years before retiring.

--His daughter Jenny Wensil O'Daniel preceded him in death. Surviving children: Becky, Cindy, BeLinda, and Bob Rockman. He had ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren
