Betty Cheshire Crow Freshwater, age 94 of Destin FL, passed away peacefully at her home on February 9, 2020. She was born on April 3, 1925 in Colquitt, GA to parents Euzema & Grace Cheshire. A longtime resident of Okaloosa County, she was a member of the Destin United Methodist Church, Living Forever Sunday School class, and a cherished volunteer for the United Methodist Women's (UMW) Jewelry Ministry.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. "Dick" Freshwater; parents Euzema & Grace Cheshire; sister Allene Cheshire Bessent; brothers James "Jimmy", George, & Thomas Perry Cheshire, and daughter Susan Freshwater Brown. She is survived by sons Lawrence H. "Larry" Crow & wife Brenda, and Richard J. "Rick" Freshwater Jr. & wife Iris, of Destin FL; daughters Mary F. Chapman of Denham Springs LA and Ann F. Melancon of Haughton LA; Nephew Capt. Thomas P. Cheshire & wife Patty of Destin FL; 8 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

In accordance with her wishes, a graveside-only service will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Destin Memorial Cemetery.
