Leonard M. “Bud” Griffith, age 82, a life resident of Marysville, died Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Memorial Hospital. Born May 18, 1937 in Marysville to the late Asa and Ethel Burkholder Griffith, Bud was a 1956 graduate of Marysville High School. As a youth, he worked as a newspaper carrier coordinator for the Marysville Journal Tribune. A veteran of the Ohio National Guard, he also worked at Haffner’s Five and Dime and later, at A & P Grocery and for Teets Carpet Store. He and his wife, Ann, retired as owner/operators of Short Stop at Fifth and Maple Streets after many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death 2016, by a son, Steve Griffith; and his sisters, Miriam Mut and Loretta Kleiber. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ann Marie Dilmuth Griffith, whom he married April 6, 1957; two daughters; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Oakdale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Lupus Foundation of America, Greater Ohio Chapter.
