Grover Cleveland "C.L." Long, age 67, of Dawson, AL, passed away August 4, 1959. He was born November 5, 1892, son of Elyard Long and Nancy Elizabeth Shealy Long. He married Sallie Evie Austin on September 4, 1911, in Cleburne County, AL. Mr. Long was a farmer most of his life in Etowah County, AL.
He is survived by his sons, James Monroe Long and J.C. Long; daughters, Nancy Viola Long Gantt, of Glendale, SC, and Evie Long Brown of Paulding County, GA; and 15 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 6, 1959, at Fairview Methodist Church with interment in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his sons, James Monroe Long and J.C. Long; daughters, Nancy Viola Long Gantt, of Glendale, SC, and Evie Long Brown of Paulding County, GA; and 15 grandchildren.
