J. Clyde Lawton, 92, of 706 Catawissa Ave., a former long-time employee of the Pennsylvania Department of Highways Nursery, Chillisquaque, died at 10:15 a.m. Saturday in the Sunbury Community Hospital.

Born at Fayette Station, W. Va., Nov. 8, 1886, he was a sons of the late William and Susan Haupt Lawton. His first wife, Mary Ewing, died in 1946. In 1952, he married the former Marion Harman Fuge, who survives him.

Mr. Lawton was a member of the Catawissa Avenue United Methodist Church, Sunbury.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Joseph W. Lawton, Sunbury RD2; two stepsons, Richard H. Fuge of Bethlehem and Francis W. Fuge of Louisville, Ky.; two grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and one step great grandchild.

Burial will be in Pomfret Manor Cemetery.
