John H. Balsbaugh, Sr., 91, of Stone Ridge Towne Centre, Myerstown, formerly of Heidelberg Township, died Friday, December 7, 2012 in the Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of the late Edna M. Bollinger Balsbaugh. He was born in Heidelberg Township on April 26, 1921 a son of the late Paul A. and Annie M. Bomberger Balsbaugh. John was a retired farmer, a member of the Heidelberg Church of the Brethren where he served as secretary of the church Sunday school for many years. He is survived by children, John H. Balsbaugh, Jr and wife Patricia of Lebanon; Linda M. Fisher and husband Melvin S. Fisher of Lebanon; James R. Balsbaugh and wife Charmayne of Myerstown; Jesse L. Balsbaugh of Wernersville; Philip P. Balsbaugh and wife Jennifer of Schaefferstown; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren and a sister, Mary Weik and husband Harvey Weik of Myerstown. He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Forry. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM in the Heidelberg Church of the Brethren, Reistville Road, Myerstown, with a viewing beginning on Tuesday at 10:00 AM. Interment will be made in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to Heidelberg Church of the Brethren and mailed to Luke Bucher, 801 Oak St., Myerstown, PA 17067. Clauser Funeral Home, Inc. is handling his arrangements.
