Important Note:
For many years, I had thought that Celia E Locklin and Emaline Mae Locklin were 2 separate children of William and Nancy Locklin. It appears now, that I have been incorrect in this conclusion. I have conferred with a researching family members, Theresa Catherine Connor Minor and Polly Sue Fricke Wingenter, regarding Celia E and Emaline Mae being one and the same person. They have also concluded that Celia and Emaline are one and the same person - possibly named Celia Emaline Mae Locklin.
The following is how we have arrived at our conclusion:
The 1840 Walton Co., GA Census for William Lawson Locklin Sr and Nancy show the following for the females in his household:
Females Under 5 yrs - 3, Females 5-10 yrs - 2, Females 10-15 yrs - 1 and Females 20-30 yrs - 1.
Originally I thought the following for those age brackets:
Females Under 5 years = 3 (this would be Emiline Mae Locklin at age 5, Elisabeth A. Locklin at age 3, and Sarah Catherine Locklin at age 2);
Females 5 - 10 years = 2 (this would be Frances N. Locklin at age 10 and Celia E Locklin at age 6);
Females 10 - 15 years = 1 (this is Louisa E. Locklin at at 13);
Females 20 - 30 years = 1 (this is Nancy Mercer Locklin age 29).
Since no individual names or specific ages were listed on the 1840 census, other than the head of the household, I came up with the names for the age brackets based on later census records and a marriage record. In the 1850 Milam Co., TX Census for William and Nancy, Celia was enumerated as Celia E Locklin, age 15, but there was no Emaline enumerated in that census. My mom and I found the marriage record in Williamson Co., TX for Emaline Mae Locklin and William Jones, married 25 Oct 1854, in Georgetown. I was unable to find Celia in the 1860 Census, but according to her headstone in the Locklin Cemetery, she was born Apr 1834 and died Apr 1861 and was the wife of W Jones. I "assumed" she was missed in the 1860 census. Emaline Jones was enumerated in the 1860 Milam Co., TX census as widowed and living with Wm and Catherine Fokes Anderson. She had 2 children in the household: Frances and W.L. Jones. Somewhere in my research, I obtained a birth date for Emaline as 17 May 1835, but failed to make a notation of the source. Based on the ages of the girls in the 1840 census (as shown above), the 1850 census enumerating Celia and the 1860 for Emaline, I came up with 2 separate daughters. A death record has never been found for Emaline Mae Locklin Jones, nor a place of burial. By comparing notes with Theresa and Sue, we all agree that Celia E and Emaline Mae were likely one and the same person.

One problem....who was the other daughter in the 1840 census if Celia and Emaline were the same person? Martha Ann was born June 1840. Her age would have been less than 1 yr old at the time of the census and the census would have had to be enumerated after she was born, OR there was another daughter that fell into that age category that we are unaware of and that died prior to their migration to TX in 1844.

In final conclusion, until a time when more information is found, I am "merging" the records of Celia E Locklin and Emaline Mae Locklin and showing her name as Celia Emaline Mae Locklin.
